Our Instagram Media Tool uses a privacy-first approach to help you access content you own. Here's how the technology works under the hood.

Client-Side OG Meta Extraction

When you paste an Instagram post URL and click "Get Media", your browser fetches the page HTML through a CORS proxy service. The tool then parses the HTML using the browser's built-in DOMParser API to extract Open Graph (OG) meta tags — specifically og:video and og:image — which contain the direct media URLs.

No Server-Side Storage

All processing is done within your browser. We do not store, cache, or log any Instagram URLs or media content on our servers. The fetched content exists only in your browser's memory during the session.

CORS Proxy for Browser Compatibility

Instagram's servers do not allow direct cross-origin requests from web browsers. To enable client-side fetching, we route requests through a lightweight CORS proxy. This proxy simply relays the request headers — it does not store or modify the content.
